Three practical companions help you discuss readiness, keep household records current, and agree on ordinary care handoffs. Each connects to the existing Family Emergency & Legacy Binder so one current record remains the source.
Free working editions 0.1 — November 2, 2026. Print and write by hand or use the editable Word copies. PDFs have no fillable fields. All examples are fictional.
Household Readiness — Planning & Practice
Eight pages, including four worksheets: readiness actions, supply-planning questions, a portable plan reference and a small practice record. It complements the existing fridge and babysitter cards; it does not score preparedness or replace local official instructions.
Household Updates — Review & Renewal
Six pages, including two worksheets for a traceable update and affected copies/open decisions. Record accepted corrections in Binder 21-A/21-B and the relevant master page.
Pets & Dependents — Agreed Care Handoffs
Seven pages, including three worksheets for helper agreement, routine locations and questions, and handoff practice. Keep individual care instructions in the current 15-A/15-B records and follow the responsible care team or veterinarian’s guidance.
Use and source notes
Start with one question and one sheet. A helper’s name is not an agreement or grant of authority. Mark proposed arrangements as unconfirmed, respect the person’s preferences and participation, and keep a clear route for questions.
For immediate danger or a life-threatening emergency in the United States, call 911 and follow local official instructions. These companions do not provide medical, guardianship, veterinary, rescue or specialized-care instructions, and do not certify readiness.
The planning principles were checked against NYC Emergency Management guidance on plans, supplies, support networks, communication preferences and pets. NYC-specific quantities, transport and shelter rules are not universal; confirm requirements with your local authority. Ready.gov could not be rechecked from this environment and is not represented as freshly verified.
Reader, native Word, physical-print and assistive-technology acceptance remain open. PDFs are untagged; no PDF/UA compliance or professional signoff is claimed. Print a sample first. Keep completed records private and omit passwords, recovery codes and full account or government identification numbers.
