The Practical Page: Records, Travel & Business

THE PRACTICAL PAGE / FREE PREVIEW 1.0

One useful page. One clearer next step.

Find an important record, identify a belonging, keep a travel receipt in context, or test the idea behind a business. Start with the page you need rather than completing an entire binder.

Both files contain the same eight blank pages. Print only the pages you need. These are print-and-write previews, not fillable forms or complete paid editions. No account is required to download them.

Records you can find

Pages 1–3. Map one important document, identify one belonging and prepare a limited sharing packet. Originals, evidence and private locators stay distinct.

Begin with five documents or five belongings. A family helper should not need your entire archive to complete one agreed task.

Travel with a record

Pages 4–5. Record the official rules to check before booking, then connect actual activities to transaction and receipt evidence.

A planned itinerary is not proof that an activity occurred. Keep original receipts, currencies and dated corrections; identify missing evidence honestly.

A business worth testing

Pages 6–8. Define a customer problem, examine what one order would require and record the evidence still needed before a paid launch.

Keep observations, assumptions and decisions separate. Compliments, signups and paid purchases answer different questions.

NEW FREE COMPANION / SIX PRACTICAL EXERCISES

Put the next step on paper.

A list becomes useful when you can act on it. These six original companion pages help you test a document copy, pack by person and bag, explain a receipt, examine a customer problem, estimate one order and check the evidence behind a business launch.

Find it. Pack it. Keep the evidence.

Pages 1–3: Try retrieving five records rather than simply listing their locations. Assign packing items to a traveler and bag, with separate packed and returned checks. Keep original receipt amounts, missing-evidence explanations and dated corrections together.

Test the offer before expanding.

Pages 4–6: Set a bounded customer experiment, describe the time and costs for one order, and record the actual evidence needed before accepting payment. The worked arithmetic is fictional and does not forecast profit.

Start small enough to finish.

Choose one page. Complete one real check. Record what remains unresolved and who will take the next step. A missing document, an unanswered question or an untested assumption is useful information, not a reason to invent a completed result.

Companion preview 1.0, October 30, 2026. Both paper sizes contain the same six pages. These expand the themes of the eight-page starter above; they do not replace it. Print-and-write PDFs, not fillable forms, official claims, travel permission or completed paid editions. Source links are embedded in the PDFs. Reader, physical-print and assistive-technology acceptance remain open.

NEW / FREE WORKED-EXAMPLE GUIDE

See the decisions behind the entries.

Follow five fictional records and five belongings through a retrieval and evidence check. See what belongs in a limited sharing packet, reconcile a mixed-currency receipt without counting it twice, and compare service, maker and digital-product business examples.

An eight-page guide is available in US Letter and A4. It accompanies the starter and Follow-through Companion rather than replacing their blank exercises.

All examples and amounts are invented for teaching, not actual receipts, insurance valuations, business forecasts or travel permissions. The fuller publications and software remain in development; no paid ordering or new mailing schedule is activated.

A CONNECTED EDITION / IN DEVELOPMENT

From five belongings to a lasting record.

The Home Inventory & Claims Companion now has a fuller editorial draft with eight chapters and eight coordinated worksheet designs. Explore its approach to exact identifiers, missing evidence, value questions, document retrieval and limited sharing.

The introduction and existing free exercises are available now. The full manuscript and spreadsheet remain review editions, not public downloads or products for sale. No new archive upload, ordering or mailing feature is activated.

In development: Before You Go

The planned Travel Rules & Evidence Journal will connect a trip profile, authorization questions, dated provider checks, planned and actual activity, receipts, changes and archive reviews. A separate Cuba research supplement is being developed so destination-specific changes do not turn into permanent assumptions in a general packing list.

A receipt is evidence, not permission. OFAC states that Cuba tourist travel-related transactions are not authorized, and a general license requires meeting its actual conditions. Tourism guidance and general-license guidance explain those boundaries.

Research checked October 30, 2026: 31 CFR 501.601 generally requires covered transaction records for at least ten years after each transaction, except as otherwise provided. The Cuba travel regulation points to that recordkeeping rule. An older FAQ still displays five years; do not use that older wording as the blanket rule for a new trip.

OFAC also changed educational travel authorizations, professional-meeting authorizations and restricted-entity transaction rules effective September 30, 2026. Check current official requirements and obtain qualified advice for your circumstances. This preview does not determine eligibility, approve bookings, certify compliance or provide ways around restrictions. The full destination supplement remains under review.

In development: Build a Useful Business

The planned workbook follows the work from customer research through an offer, setup questions, costs, proposals, delivery and a monthly review. Its twelve development modules include an agency-and-evidence checklist, business-document consistency check, customer validation, per-order economics, sales follow-through and continuity planning.

Use the three free business pages to start a small experiment. Broader planning references include the SBA planning guide, SBA launch guide and IRS starting-business resources. Requirements depend on the actual activity and location; a worksheet does not grant permission to operate or guarantee profit.

Keep the master private

Complete these pages in storage you control. The blank files do not upload your answers to DTP. Do not submit completed records, account numbers, medical files, passwords, access codes or valuable-property lists through public feedback forms. Prepare a separate, reviewed file when a legitimate recipient needs selected information. The NAIC inventory guidance and Library of Congress preservation guidance offer additional background; neither endorses DTP.

Use and development status

For these preview pages, personal, household and own-business completion, printing and private backups are permitted. You may share selected completed pages with an authorized recipient for a legitimate purpose. This does not grant resale or public redistribution rights for the blank templates. Your entries and original documents remain yours. See Copyright & Reuse and Terms & Limitations.

Version 1.0 has received digital layout review. Reader, physical-print and assistive-technology testing remain open. The fuller publications, editable workbooks and recipient-export software are not released here. Any later paid edition will identify overlap with these free pages. No payment, preorder or new mailing schedule is activated.
