Save and restore your game progress

Most game progress is saved in your browser. Some games provide downloadable backup files that can help preserve scores, levels and achievements. Use the available save and restore controls before clearing website data or changing devices.

Before restoring: Keep your downloaded backup files and save any current progress. Do not clear Safari or Chrome website data or delete backups before verifying your saved game.

Back up and restore a game

  1. In a game that supports backups, choose Download backup, Export, or Download game and keep the downloaded file in a safe place.
  2. Give each file a recognizable name, keep backups from different games separate, and make a second copy. Never edit the file contents.
  3. Open the matching game in the Games collection. If it has a compatible Restore backup or Import feature, review its preview and any warning about replacing active progress. Save or export your current game progress first if you already have some.
  4. After a successful restore, confirm your scores, levels, settings, and achievements, then reload the game and confirm that the progress remains. Keep the downloaded backup until you are satisfied.

What if a game has no export feature?

Not every game has portable backups. If Restore is unavailable or reports an incompatible file, cancel the import rather than replacing current progress. Keep the file for troubleshooting; do not paste raw browser storage into unfamiliar websites.

Water Sort and other game-specific backups

Water Sort has its own progress and backup controls. Open Water Sort to download a backup or restore a compatible file. Otherwise, begin a new campaign. Solo computer-opponent games may use separate Download game and Restore game controls instead of a collection-wide backup.

Important limitations

  • Browser saves stay on the device and browser profile in which they were created. Private browsing, clearing website data, or changing devices can remove progress unless a compatible backup is available.
  • Automatic account-based saving and cross-device synchronization are not currently available in Games.
  • Online rankings are not currently available. Local practice, score and time-based modes remain available where supported.
  • A successful file download alone does not prove the game can restore it; verify the result inside the matching game.

If you encounter a missing restore control or a rejected save, keep the file and contact David Tom Publishing with the game name and a description of the problem. Do not send private information or backup files unless requested through a secure support process.

Switching between editions of the same game

Some games have more than one playable edition. For example, Pinball in the Arcade and the separate Pinball edition can keep different scores and achievements, even on the same device. Other editions may share part of their browser progress or settings. Do not assume that switching editions merges or transfers records.

Before changing editions or playing in two tabs, download a backup in the game you currently use, when supported. Follow any Restore review carefully, confirm your scores or levels after a reload, and keep the original file. A shared sound or vibration preference does not mean game saves are synchronized.

If your game cannot read its saved progress

Do not clear browser data or reset your game first. Keep any downloaded backups and use the game’s available recovery controls. If a restore fails, avoid replacing your current save until you understand the warning.

Sort It! protects an unreadable save instead of overwriting it. Choose Download recovery copy to preserve the original data, then restore a compatible backup or explicitly choose Start fresh. Other games may offer different recovery tools. Open Sort It!
